Welcome
to the VassarStats website, which I hope you will find to be a useful and user-friendly tool for performing statistical computation. Each of the links in white text in the panel on the left will show an annotated list of the statistical procedures available under that rubric. The «Site Map» display below will show a complete list of all available items.
The best web browsers for using this site are Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, all of which are available cost-free for both Windows and Macintosh platforms. Internet Explorer is not recommended, as it provides poor support for modern web formatting standards. There is the additional problem that Explorer will not respond to some of the programming on this site unless you modify the browser's security settings.

Website Information
This site is dedicated to the free dissemination of knowledge on the world-wide web. Its various computational components are programmed entirely in JavaScript, which is a scripting language that can be interpreted by all up-to-date web browsers. Although JavaScript is most widely known for its ability to adorn websites with bells and whistles, such as the drop-down box from which you are now reading, it can also be adapted to perform some fairly elaborate number-crunching. All calculations are performed within your browser. There is no transmission of data back and forth between your computer and the server.
The Comments, suggestions, and corrections can be addressed to: Lowry@vassar.edu. The name “VassarStats” is is used with permission of Vassar College, which was the author’s home base at the time the concept for this site was originally developed.
